Hidden behind a wooden door in the artisan quarter of San Niccolò, Casa Profumoir is a residence like no other. It invites guests on a sensory journey into the world of Florentine craftsmanship and the ancient art of perfume-making. This is not simply a place to stay, but a home where scent, history, and artistry are interwoven in every detail.

The interiors speak softly in hues of cream and sage, with antique brass touches and bespoke finishes throughout. In the master bedroom, a skylight crafted by Florentine glassmakers Polloni casts light onto an antique brass bed, finely worked wooden furnishings, and artworks that evoke the thread of life. The adjoining bathroom offers a moment of deep repose, with a freestanding bathtub, marble sink, and generous walk-in shower.

Throughout the house, each room has been designed to delight the senses. The living room, warm and intimate, features a rare opium bed. The dining area and kitchen are both elegant and functional, with displays of essential oils and rare botanicals in glass vessels, inviting guests to linger and explore. Every surface, scent, and texture is curated to create an atmosphere of tactile beauty and quiet indulgence.

Step outside, and the story continues. The private aromatic garden is an ode to the Mediterranean, where roses, aromatic herbs, and citrus trees guide you towards the Extraction Room. Here, copper alembics are still used to distil essential oils in the traditional way. Guests may shower beneath the open sky, read under the mimosa tree, or dine al fresco surrounded by scent and silence.

A stay at the Perfumer’s House is more than just an overnight stay, it is a true experiential and educational journey, offering guests the chance to explore Florence through one of its historic excellences: the ancient art of perfumery. Closely connected to the Profumoir Laboratory, the House offers a unique journey that begins with the discovery of raw materials and continues with the creation of your own personal fragrance. Upon request, it can be enriched with additional experiences dedicated to this fascinating art.
